Hire a Shopify developer in Dubai for a store that converts

Shopify is the fastest way to launch a polished, reliable online store. As a Dubai Shopify developer I handle everything — theme customisation, custom Liquid sections, app setup, payments, shipping and launch — so your brand looks premium and sells smoothly.

I built Hamac Dubai, a luxury fashion Shopify store with seasonal campaigns, so I understand high-end UAE retail and what it takes to convert browsers into buyers.

  • Custom Liquid themes and sections, not generic templates.
  • UAE payments & AED with the right apps for tax and shipping.
  • App integrations for reviews, loyalty, subscriptions and upsells.
  • Speed and conversion optimisation for mobile-first UAE shoppers.

What's included in your Shopify store

🎨

Custom Liquid Theme

Brand-aligned, custom-coded Shopify theme that stands out.

💳

UAE Payments

Shopify Payments, Tap, Stripe and PayPal with AED pricing.

🔌

App Integrations

Reviews, loyalty, subscriptions, upsells and email apps configured.

🚚

Shipping & Tax

UAE shipping zones and tax rules set up correctly.

Speed Tuned

Optimised theme code and images for fast mobile loads.

📊

Analytics

Conversion tracking and Google Analytics from day one.

The Shopify setup a UAE store actually needs

A Shopify theme installed straight from the store is built for a US buyer. Selling in the Emirates needs a handful of specific decisions made correctly at setup.

💳

Payments in the UAE

Shopify Payments is not available in every market, so UAE merchants usually run a third-party gateway — Telr, PayTabs, Checkout.com, Stripe or Network International. Each carries its own transaction fee on top of Shopify’s, and that difference matters at volume. I set up the one that fits your bank and margins.

🌙

Tabby & Tamara

Instalment payments are close to expected in the UAE now. Both are installed and tested properly, including the product-page messaging that shows shoppers their monthly amount before they reach checkout. Full setup guide.

🧾

5% VAT and tax invoices

VAT-inclusive display prices, compliant tax invoices with your TRN, and correct handling of exports and free-zone sales. Shopify does not do this properly out of the box for the UAE. VAT guide.

🚚

Shipping & COD

Emirate-level shipping rates, courier integrations for Aramex, Fetchr or your own fleet, and cash on delivery configured with the order-confirmation flow that keeps COD refusal rates down.

🔤

Arabic storefront

A proper right-to-left Arabic storefront with correct typography and mirrored layout, not a translation widget overlaid on an English theme.

📱

WhatsApp ordering

Click-to-chat with cart context passed through, because a meaningful share of UAE shoppers would rather finish the order in a conversation than a checkout form.

What a Shopify store really costs in Dubai

A freelance Shopify build in Dubai starts at AED 2,499 for theme customisation, payments, shipping and app setup with 30 days of support. Remember Shopify also has a monthly platform fee (roughly AED 110–400/month depending on plan) plus app subscriptions — that's the trade-off for a fully hosted, maintenance-light store. Custom Liquid sections, a bespoke theme, or subscription and loyalty apps raise the one-off build cost; you get a fixed quote up front after a quick discovery call.

My Shopify process

I start with your brand and catalogue, design the key templates, then build in Liquid — custom sections, not a stock theme. I wire up UAE-ready payments (Shopify Payments, Tap, Stripe, PayPal) in AED, set shipping zones and tax, and integrate the apps you actually need for reviews, upsells or subscriptions. Everything is speed-tuned for mobile before launch, with analytics and conversion tracking live from day one.

Proof: Hamac Dubai

I built Hamac Dubai, a luxury Dubai fashion Shopify store with seasonal Ramadan campaigns and a high-end, conversion-focused storefront. Luxury UAE retail is unforgiving — the design has to feel premium and checkout has to be flawless — and that project is the proof I can deliver both. You're hiring a developer who has shipped a real luxury UAE Shopify store, not a template installer.

Not sure Shopify is the right platform? If you'd rather own everything with no monthly fee, compare it with hiring a WooCommerce developer in Dubai — or message me and I'll recommend the platform that fits your budget and catalogue honestly.

Theme customisation or custom Liquid development?

You rarely need a fully bespoke Shopify theme, and being sold one is a common way to overspend. My honest split:

  • Premium theme, customised — most stores. Start from a well-built paid theme and adapt colours, typography, sections and layout to your brand. Fastest to launch, cheapest to maintain, and it keeps receiving updates from the theme developer.
  • Custom sections on a premium theme — growing stores. Keep the theme foundation but add hand-written Liquid sections for things it cannot do: bundle builders, size guides, custom product configurators, subscription widgets.
  • Fully custom theme — established brands only. Worth it when your brand experience is a genuine differentiator and you have the traffic to justify it. Highest cost, and you own all future maintenance.

Whichever route, I keep the app count low. Every app adds scripts to your storefront, and app bloat is the most common cause of slow Shopify stores I am asked to fix.

Migrating to or from Shopify

Both directions are routine. Moving from WooCommerce or Magento to Shopify means mapping products, variants, customers and order history, then rebuilding the URL structure with 301 redirects so you do not lose the search rankings you already have.

Moving the other way — Shopify to WooCommerce — usually happens when monthly platform and transaction fees stop making sense at your volume, or you need checkout control Shopify will not give you. I will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on rather than pushing whichever platform pays me more, because neither does.

Why Dubai brands choose me for Shopify

You get a developer who has shipped a real luxury UAE Shopify store, not a template installer. I customise Liquid, build the sections you need, and make sure checkout, payments and shipping are flawless for the UAE market.

Stores start at AED 2,499 with 30 days of free support. Direct communication, fixed pricing, and 2 to 4 hour WhatsApp replies.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Shopify store cost in Dubai?

Two costs run in parallel. Shopify charges a monthly subscription for the platform itself, and I charge a one-off build fee — typically AED 2,499 to 15,000 depending on product count, custom sections and integrations. On top of that sit transaction fees from your payment gateway. Full breakdown in my Shopify cost guide for Dubai.

Can UAE businesses use Shopify Payments?

Shopify Payments is not available in every market, so UAE merchants generally run a third-party gateway such as Telr, PayTabs, Checkout.com, Stripe or Network International. Shopify then adds a small extra transaction fee on top of the gateway fee. I set up whichever combination works best for your bank and margins.

Can you add Tabby and Tamara to my Shopify store?

Yes, both, including the product-page instalment messaging that shows shoppers their monthly payment before checkout. Instalment options reliably lift conversion in the UAE. See my setup guide.

How long does a Shopify build take?

A clean starter store with up to around 20 products takes one to two weeks. A larger catalogue with custom sections, apps and integrations takes two to three weeks. Migrations from another platform depend mostly on how clean the existing product data is.

Do I need a custom Shopify theme?

Usually not. Most stores are best served by a well-built premium theme customised to the brand, with hand-written Liquid sections added only where the theme genuinely falls short. A fully custom theme makes sense for established brands with the traffic to justify it.

My Shopify store is slow. Can you speed it up?

Yes. The most common cause is app bloat — every installed app injects scripts into the storefront. I audit which apps earn their place, remove the rest, optimise images and theme code, and cut render-blocking resources.

Can you handle 5% UAE VAT on Shopify?

Yes — VAT-inclusive price display, tax invoices carrying your TRN, and correct treatment of exports and free-zone sales. Shopify does not handle UAE VAT correctly out of the box, so this is configured deliberately.

Can you migrate my store from WooCommerce to Shopify?

Yes, and in the other direction too. Products, variants, customers and order history are mapped across, and the URL structure is rebuilt with 301 redirects so existing search rankings carry over.

Can you build an Arabic version of my store?

Yes — a genuine right-to-left Arabic storefront with correct typography and mirrored layouts, plus a language switcher and hreflang markup, rather than a translation widget over an English theme.

Do you offer ongoing Shopify support?

Yes. Every build includes 14 to 30 days of free post-launch support, and optional monthly plans cover theme updates, new sections, app management, seasonal campaign pages and small edits.

Will my Shopify store rank on Google?

Shopify handles the technical basics well. I add proper collection and product page structure, schema markup, unique metadata rather than duplicated templates, and internal linking. Competitive UAE rankings also need content and links — see SEO in Dubai.

Do I own the store and all the data?

Yes. The Shopify account is in your name with me added as staff. If we stop working together you keep the store, the theme and every customer record.
